A Landman, at least one who works in the petroleum industry, will act as the middleman between the exploration companies and the landowners. Typically, a landman’s job is to negotiate and finalize contracts with landowners with mineral rights to lease those rights to the company they represent Essentially, they manage the land and secure the leases, so they can drill oil and gas.

Like a foreman on a construction site, they build out roads ,living quarters for the workers (man-camp), assemble the excavation machinery and drill the well itself especially in remote locations. They are also, part Fixer, Problem Solver and Facilitator as well.. My review is strictly on the entertainment value of the show and if its a waste of time.
Wise cracking witty comebacks are his forte
It is evident that Billy Bob Thornton makes the show with a strong supporting cast. So if strong language isn’t your thing, then you probably haven’t seen Bad Santa or any other of his movies for the most part. The first two episodes are definitely entertaining and I love the balance of humor and then a WTF moment out of left field.I’d say its a strong enough start to keep you wanting to watch.
Other than that, its entertaining and not a waste of time
A gritty show that almost seems like its out of place in today’s society, since everyone has to walk on eggshells with what they do or say for the sake of not offending anyone. For that I can appreciate it.There is a little sexualization of Thornton’s 17 year old daughter in the show, but upon research, 17 years old is the age of consent in Texas which is where the show takes place but its still a little weird to me which is why I didn’t give it a perfect 10. Hopefully the first two episodes are a tone setter of what’s to come and not a rope a dope to where the show starts falling apart as it goes on.
